Innovation has been in the company's DNA since its creation and remains one of Dorcel's cornerstones over the years. This drive to encourage and maintain a capacity to innovate is expressed both in the conception of its content, and in the marketing and sales of its products. Since 1979, Dorcel has been a pioneer in this field:
- 1979: "Jolies petites Garces," the first European pornographic movie shot on video and the first by Marc Dorcel.
- 1995: First interactive X-rated CD-ROM.
- 1995: First X-actress under exclusive contract. Laure Sainclair becomes Dorcel's muse and ambassador.
- 1998: First multilingual X-rated DVD.
- 2002: First European adult VOD service with Dorcelvision.
- 2006: First European premium adult entertainment channel (Dorcel TV).
- 2006: First adult concept store in France.
- 2008: Dorcel Magazine, the official magazine of the brand available in all newsstands.
- 2009: First 3D immersive X-rated productions in FULL HD
- 2010: First crowdfunding X-rated production with the movie "Mademoiselle de Paris".
- 2011: Launch of the Dorcel sextoy product line
- 2012: Launch of DORCEL XXX, the Group's second TV channel
- 2013: Launch of Dorcelclub, a SVOD service dedicated to Dorcel productions « En direct des plateaux de tournage » (Live from the Sets).
- 2015: First 360° immersive Virtual Reality X-rated experience in 3D and full HD with sound surround.
- 2017: Launch of Dorcel LAB, the incubator for edgy startups.
- 2018: Launch of Playboy TV in Europe powered by Dorcel.
- 2018: Launch of Dorcel TV Canada.
- 2019: Launch of Dorcel TV AFRICA, Africa's first fully African-produced X-channel.
- 2019: Launch of Dorcel Experience, the digital platform, featuring over 5.000 films, scenes and shows on VOD as well as the group's 3 TV channels both live and replay.
- 2020: Exclusive partnership with Vixen Group for the launch of VOD offers and the VIXEN channel powered by DORCEL.
- 2020: Dorcel Interactive, the first 100% interactive Adult VOD « dont vous êtes le héros » (you are the main character).
- 2021: Dorcel Podcasts, the first digital audio Artificial Intelligence experience that tailors live to the user's desires and fantasies.
- 2021: Release of the Pleasure Calendar, a set with high-end content and a sensual and elegant design that won the Design Award at the Innovation Trophies hosted by LSA Conso.
