“Porn is also made by Women” Film Festival is back for a third and even more committed edition!

If some people still think that porn is a universe only made by men for men, the “Porn is also made by Women” Film Festival will prove to them for the third year in a row that women handle porn and the world of fantasies as well as their male colleagues! From February 20 to 26, Dorcel is presenting the third edition of the “Porn is also made by Women” Film Festival which highlights the work and talent of French and international female directors, by offering a selection of their movies free of charge to all adults.

This year, no less than ten movies were selected from ten directors with personalities and universes as diverse as their respective views on pleasure: Anna Polina, Anoushka, Carmina, Casey Calvert, Erika Lust, Inka Winter, Liselle Bailey, Liza del Sierra, Paulita Pappel & Whitney Wright. Some began in porn as actresses before moving on to directing, others chose to make porn a feminist and committed act, still others became directors to develop their artistic universe. Whatever their background, each one in their own way disrupts the clichés concerning women, too often imagined as only objects in the prejudices linked to this industry. Each movie presented deals with assumed pleasures and fantasies, directed by women who demonstrate talent and empowerment. This sovereignty of desire also concerns French women who are increasingly consuming pornography. They were a majority (60%*) to have watched adult content during 2019 and 37%* stated that they consumed pornography at least once a quarter, of which almost a third (27%*) at least once a month.

« It is more essential than ever, in 2023, to highlight the different feminine filmmakers and their visions that make up our industry and anchor it in society and its challenges, explains Laure-Sarah, Production Director of the Dorcel group. It is crucial to go beyond clichés, there is no such thing as One pornography but, as for sexualities, a multitude of sensitivities. For the past ten years, Dorcel has been collaborating regularly with female directors and this festival aims to highlight the work of these inspiring women. This is an opportunity for everyone to (re)discover these movies and for Dorcel to offer an ever more rich and varied range of visions and desires. » The brand is delighted to once again highlight the diversity of this genre cinema by supporting emblematic female directors and to make the “Porn is also made by Women” Film Festival a lasting one with this third edition. For the occasion, Dorcel also called upon an illustrator for the first time to design the festival poster. The group is very proud to present the work of French artist Cosmo, whose pop and colorful feminist touch fits perfectly with the spirit of the festival. The selection is to be discovered free of charge, once you have proven your majority, from February 20 to 26, 2023 on the VOD platform dorcelvision.com.

The detailed selection:

Born in Russia and arrived in France at the age of ten, Anna Polina obtained a literary baccalaureate and continued her studies in law and acting before taking her first steps in the world of pornography in 2008. She really starts a career in pornographic cinema in 2010. She quickly becomes an actress prized by directors and the public and will be Dorcel Girl in 2011. In 2012, she hosts a radio show on

OUI FM. She also participates in several projects alongside her acting career and directs her first feature film in 2014. Life Coach follows the story of Lola, a life coach and wellness influencer, whose real life is far from the advice she gives to her clients and subscribers. From her decadent relationship with her husband, to the offbeat characters of Clara Mia and Tiffany Leiddi, this movie is a sultry adaptation of “Insta vs reality” publications.

She quickly realized that the world of ethical and feminist porn attracted her. She writes and directs her first feature film Gloria in 2016, which will be broadcast the following year on Canal Plus and launches her website Anoushkamovies.com. Going beyond formal clichés and body norms, she wants to put female pleasure back in the center of the picture. Captive explores the creative process, vulnerabilities and the multiplicity of desire through the love story of Camille, a therapist, and her writer companion Margot.

Carmina

Guacamole https://www.dorcelvision.com/en/movies/carre-rose-films/guacamole

Her goal: to offer adult content with meaning and promote a positive, fair and responsible vision of X. Guacamole is a spicy revenge on pre-Columbian civilizations for whom the avocado would have symbolized a testicle that women were not allowed to harvest, and definitely not to crush! However, Carmina and Lina Bembe are going to prepare the famous Mexican recipe, talking about the country where they were born. Then the recipe deviates into a very spicy lesbian sex scene.

Erika Lust

Safe Word https://www.dorcelvision.com/en/movies/erika-lust/safe-word

Award-winning adult filmmaker Erika Lust is one of the worldwide pioneers of feminist pornography, who creates sex-positive adult cinema by portraying relatable characters and realistic hot sex, going beyond gender stereotypes and harmful fetishisations to offer a groundbreaking alternative to mass produced mainstream porn. Over the past 20 years, Erika has been working to challenge the porn industry standards through her company, ERIKALUST,  by promoting high-quality cinematic storytelling and a realistic representation of human sexuality and sex. Following eight core values and principles to adhere to an ethical production process, ERIKALUST advocates for the importance of paying for porn to ensure safe working conditions and fair pay for sex workers.

ERIKALUST runs the streaming platforms XConfessions (turning the public’s anonymous fantasies into explicit and artistic short films), Lust Cinema, and Else Cinema (the Erika Lust Soft Edition for those who want to capture the details of what sex feels like). As a mother of two, Erika also has a strong voice emphasizing the need for more informative and open sex education; The Porn Conversation is her non-profit platform giving families and educators the tools to help open up the topic of porn to the younger generations.

Erika is committed to forging a new concept of sexual expression that is “creating new waves in adult cinema, showing all the passion, intimacy, love and lust in sex: where the female point of view is vital, the aesthetics are a pleasure for all the senses and those looking for an alternative to porn can find a home”. Safe Word follows the discovery and unexpected journey of Christie, an uptight theater director, into the world of BDSM.

Now based in Los Angeles, she founded ForPlay Films, an all-female independent porn production company. “For me, this feminist cinema is a form of activism,” she explains. Because Inka believes that education and emotional well-being are central to a healthy sex life, she also launched the YouTube channel Sexucation, which aims to provide adults with factual information, often through humor and comedy, on topics such as birth control, cunnilingus, polyamory and how to communicate during sex. In addition to her work as a director and producer, Inka is training as a therapist and offers coaching on desire and arousal. Like a spa treatment, Touch is a timeless scene where Ember Snow and Alex Legend take their time to relax, explore their bodies and reach ecstasy together. Slowly, tenderly, passionately.

Cosmo, a young illustrator, spent a long time in the world of fashion before devoting herself fully to drawing. Her graphic universe is strongly inspired by comics, in which the clear line plays a major role. She places women at the heart of her work in a delicate and sensual environment, often inspired by Pre-Raphaelite paintings, to which the illustrator brings her personal touch: a sarcastic and offbeat tone. Recently, we could discover her line in a Monoprix campaign, in the American department stores Barneys or for the poster of the Rock en Seine festival.
